This week, five candidates were awarded with their Lean Six Sigma Yellow and Green Belt Training certificates. The Lean Six Sigma course is a team-focused managerial approach that aims to remove waste and defects from processes to provide a structured solution and improve performance.
Here’s the team and their projects:
• James Field supported Simon Pollitt’s project, which involved measuring retreat headings using automated LIDAR drones.
• Dean Mitchinson provided support for Jimmy’s project, as well as delivering a 5S project around this area.
• Joel’s project focused on the accurate measurement of exhaust duct inlets, while Jimmy’s project aimed to improve the lubrication of mine hoist ropes.
• Jed Day provided two projects that are centred around energy savings through using different oils and reducing environmental contamination of CV lubricants.
All of these candidates have shown a dedication to improving processes in their divisions, and their Lean Six Sigma certificates are a testament to their hard work and commitment to excellence. By utilising the skills and methodologies learned through the Lean Six Sigma program, they were able to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions. These projects not only lead to increased efficiency and cost savings but also contribute to a safer and more sustainable working environment.
Grahame Wallace, VP and General Manager for Boulby and Tees Dock, expressed his delight in presenting the certificates and recognising the broad range of contributions that have elevated the business to the next level of improved performance.
Congratulations to all the candidates who successfully completed the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Training!
